Michalis is a senior lecturer, researcher and teacher trainer at Leeds Beckett University (UK). His research interests span in the areas of citizenship, human rights and inclusive education with a particular focus on the school capacity to accommodate democratic pedagogies and inclusive practices.
Michalis has designed and led teacher training and postgraduate courses on Citizenship and Inclusive education and has held research fellowships at the Centre for Citizenship and Human Rights Education (CCHRE), University of Leeds and at the Centre for Research in Inclusion and Diversity (CREID) University of Edinburgh.
In his current research Michalis is studying the inclusion of refugee students into formal education and the use of dialogue in the classroom, particularly for the exploration of controversial issues.
